German media is reporting Mercedes-Benz has decided to stage the world premiere of the C-Class and S-Class cabriolets in September at IAA.
A reliable source from Germany says the open top versions of the C and S will sit together at Mercedes-Benz’s stand in Frankfurt. While the news about the IAA-bound S-Class Cabriolet doesn’t come as a surprise, it’s interesting to see whether the Daimler-owned marque will actually show the C-Class Cabriolet before the Coupe. There’s also going to be a third Cabrio from Daimler as Smart will bring the ForTwo Cabriolet.
According to the same report, the C-Class Cabriolet (and Coupe) is getting an exclusive engine teamed up to a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. The top will be available in four different hues and will be operable at speeds of up to 60 km/h (37 mph). It will get newly developed AIRCAP and AIRSCARF systems and a variety of alloy wheels ranging in sizes from 17 to 19 inches.
Images with the C-Class Cabriolet are expected to hit the web in August while the launch should occur in December. The C-Class Coupe will reportedly be revealed in February 2016 and reach dealerships in June.
