ARES Atelier has created the “Mercedes-Benz S-Class XXL” which they describe as being the “epitome of representative automobiles.”
The S-Class Pullman will likely be introduced in March at the Geneva Motor Show but ARES Atelier has already prepared a similar version by stretching the chassis of the regular S-Class and installing a carbon fiber body kit. Aside from a reinforced chassis structure, the S-Class XXL has also received a series of other upgrades such as 6mm thick tempered side glass, beefier brakes, revised gearbox and 21-inch wheels.
More changes are noticeable inside the cabin where there are “vis-à-vis first class rear seats”, Nappa leather upholstery, consoles with cooling boxes & glasses storage, as well as a 17-inch foldable HD screen on the ceiling, electric curtains, iPads, WLAN with external antenna and an upgraded sound system. At an additional cost, the customer can order an armored variant which can even include a bomb detector.
ARES Atelier doesn’t mention the identity of the engine but they do say it can be upgraded to more than 600 HP (441 kW) so it’s most likely the V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo which delivers 530 HP (390 kW) in the S600. With the power package installed, the S-Class XXL will do 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.8 seconds before topping out at 155 mph (250 km/h).
