Last week it was the CLA Shooting Brake and this week on the streets of Dubai, the Mercedes-Benz GLK out running tests.

The second generation Mercedes GLK will likely be introduced to the market in September 2015 and will be followed up by a GLK Coupe the following year with AMG models following in the later half of 2016.

With the introduction of the GLA, the GLK is no longer Mercedes’ entry level SUV.  This means that like the C-Class, the GLK will need to grow slightly to distance itself from its new baby brother.  The added space will mean more legroom for rear passengers and likely a bit larger trunk space.

Another change that will be seen on the new generation GLK will be a sportier more sloped roofline and longer hood giving itself an updated appearance.

Engines in the GLK will include a new 4-cylinder 1.8-liter turbocharged in the GLk250 while the economical BlueTec 250 will continue with the 4-cylinder 2.1-liter diesel. Also watch for a V6-powered GLK 350.
