The recently spied Mercedes G63 AMG aka “Green Monster” will actually go into production in the near future.

G63 AMG aka “Green Monster”
Last week we brought a comprehensive gallery of spy shots depicting a four-wheel version of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 and wearing a Hulk-like paint. In an interview with CarAdvice at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Mercedes-AMG CEO Tobias Moers confirmed the model will be launched “soon” so chances are it will be out sometime next year.

The 6×6 version is available in select markets and production is annually limited to 20-30 cars, with prices in Germany for the 2015 model year kicking off at a whopping €456,900. Chances are its four-wheel sibling will be a tad less expensive but probably still over the €400,000 mark. The elimination of the second rear axle should shave off a considerable amount of weight over the 6×6 variant which tips the scales at 3,850 kg (8,487 lbs).
Power will likely come from the same 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine outputting 544 HP (400 kW) and 560 lb-ft (758 Nm) sent to both axles through a 7G-TRONIC transmission.
