Earlier this week, Mercedes AMG teased us with a few close-ups of a mystery AMG model, and today, Mercedes-Benz has revealed the mysterious AMG in all its carbon glory. It is the 2014 SLS AMG GT Final Edition. The last hurrah if you will for the Mercedes SLS AMG. The Final Edition will be built in a limited run of only 350 vehicles that will feature a same V8 6.3-liter engine, capable of outputting 591 HP (435 kW), that has been carried over from the standard SLS AMG GT version.
Making the Final Edition extra special is a carbon fiber hood and front splitter, as well as a redesigned front bumper and new brakes. You’ll also notice an updated rear wing and carbon side mirror housings, with darkened light surrounds.
Official details on the SLS AMG GT Final Edition will be revealed next week in Los Angeles and Tokyo when the new AMG model has its first public outings.
The SLS AMG replacement has already been announced and will debut in 2014, likely wearing an “SLC” badge. Currently codenamed the “C190”, it will be smaller than the current SLS and have a lower starting price. It is expected to receive the newly developed V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine that is rated at 493 bhp (327 kW). The same engine currently slated to power the next-gen C63 AMG.
