Mercedes-Benz took back the crown from rival luxury brand BMW, after BMW had held the title of top-selling car brand for two years straight. Even with an end of the year sales surge from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, with its vast vehicle lineup, was able to beat BMW’s sales and set an annual record for sales in the process.
Helping solidify their position, Mercedes posted a 17 percent increase in December with 33,007 deliveries. Mercedes-Benz sales leaders included the all-new Mercedes CLA, Mercedes new entry-level vehicle, the E-Class and uber luxury S-Class. Mercedes-Benz sales increased by 14 percent to 312,534 units sold, 3,254 vehicles more than BMW.
Congratulations Mercedes-Benz!
