It is no secret that we are fans of the AMG Driving Academy in the US, you can read our review of the AMG Driving Academy PRO here. So, it comes as no surprise that we were excited to see that the AMG Driving Academy team in Germany brought Tommy Kendall, AMG Brand Ambassador and four time Trans-AM Champion into the mix. Tommy joined the SLS AMG GT3 Warm-Up program as a participant to give an inside look at how the AMG Driving Academy prepares its participants to drive the SLS AMG GT3 race car. And, lucky for us, it was all captured on video. The seven part video series, put out by Mercedes AMG, follows Tommy Kendall through the Warm-Up Level and onto the Training Level where he is joined by NASCAR star driver Brian Vickers. Together, they put this incredible race car through its paces at the Lausitzring race track in Germany. The clip below shows Tommy after arriving at the Lausitzring race track in Germany. Tommy Kendall has a theoretical introduction to the program and the SLS AMG GT3. After this a thorough physical check is completed to be sure that all participants are prepared for the physical demands of driving the SLS AMG GT3, the day ends with the anticipation of what is to come.
