A Mercedes S63 AMG is synonymous with power, style and luxury. A pickup truck however is thought of as more of a rugged workhorse – this is likely the reason why we’ve never seen them combined. At least until now. X-Tomi Design rendered what such a marriage would look like.

Ahead of its upcoming debut, that will likely happen in Detroit, new renderings of the Mercedes GLA 45 AMG have made their way to the web.
At the L.A. Auto Show last November, Mercedes-Benz officially unveiled the GLA 45 AMG Concept. The concept was a preview of what we could expect from the production model and if indeed the design carries over, it will be well received at its unveiling.
The renderings are a great mix of the concept we saw and spy photos we’ve seen over the past few months and could very well be what we’ll see from Mercedes in coming weeks.

Earlier today we saw renderings of what the Mercedes C63 AMG could look like and now we have a rendering of what a future C-Class Hatchback could look like from master automotive manipulator Theophilus Chin. Based on the rendering and its similarity to the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, the real question is whether or not a C-Class Hatchback is really necessary. The C-Class hatchback will likely come in on the large size for a compact hatchback, around 4,500 mm long while the A-Class is already 4,292 mm long. So, which would you rather have?
The all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class was welcomed to glowing reviews for the new design but left people wondering what was in store for the AMG version. While Mercedes keeps us waiting, automotive manipulators are busy rendering what they think the next C63 AMG will look like. Here is the latest set of renderings from Virtual-Car. Compare these to some of the latest spy photos and the C-Class AMG Line that was just revealed and I don’t think they’re too far off.

Automotive manipulating genius, Theophilius Chin, turned his talents towards the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class this week. Rendering a Mercedes C-Class SportCoupe, Chin was able to use the new C-Class Saloon that was revealed last week as inspiration. On the off chance that you missed the big C-Class reveal, check out a full photo gallery with details here.
There are currently no official details on C-Class SportCoupe, what it will look like or if it will even be added to the C-Class lineup that is already slated to include a saloon, estate and convertible. As for the rendering, Chin sees it as being a five-door coupe with sloping roofline similar to the BMW 3-series GT that would go head-to-head with the Audi A5 Sportback.
Check out the photos below and then head over to Facebook or Twitter and let us know what you think.

One of our favorite car artists, Theophilus Chin, has revealed his latest rendering. A Mercedes SL Shooting Brake and it may be our favorite design we’ve seen rendered this year.
The Shooting Brake has been designed with an stylish rear hatch with sloped roof and a very unique rear tailgate. The SL Shooting Brake has also been fitted with new side windows, to prevent blind spots. After all, Mercedes-Benz is all about safety.
While a Mercedes SL Shooting Brake isn’t currently on the docket, Mercedes is readying the new CLA Shooting Brake and their facelifted CLS Shooting Brake for their unveiling.

As of late, Mercedes seems to have an answer to all of it’s competitor’s models. But one model we’ve yet to see Mercedes announce is a three-door crossover to do battle with the Range Rover Evoque. Best filling the gap for Mercedes-Benz would be a three-door variant of the all-new GLA and thanks to master rendering artist, Theophilus Chin, we have a good idea of what a three-door GLA would look like.
Like the Range Rover Evoque, which is available in five or three door models, the three-door GLA would be shorter than the five-door model with a significantly more sloped roofline to create a more coupe like appearance unlike the more boxy Evoque.
Check out the photo gallery below for the Mercedes-Benz GLA three-door renderings and click here for more information on the Mercedes GLA.
The next generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class is scheduled for its world premier sometime next year but that hasn’t stopped spy photographers form doing everything they can to catch a glimpse of the next-gen model ahead of that reveal. We’ve been bringing you spy photos for months, and now, based on those photos, SRK from Indian Autos Blog has translated those photos into an amazing rendering.
We’ve included the new rendering as well as past spy photos in the gallery below.
New C-Class engines and specs
From the new C-Class lineup, we can expect to see a range of efficient petrol and diesel engines, a four-cylinder engine developed and built by Nissan and the first engine built in the U.S. to be used in a mainstream Mercedes as well as a plug-in hybrid model in order for Mercedes to take on the Lexus IS 300h.
Watch for big updates to the safety tech on-board, borrowing systems from the current E-Class, including cameras that can detect traffic and quite possibly the ability to steer itself in traffic jams.
One of the most important changes to the new C-Class would be the new Mercedes Rear Wheel drive Architecture (MRA) platform underpinning it. The new C-Class is expected to drive and handle better than the outgoing model thanks to the improvements in weight and performance.
New C-Class Cabriolet
There have also been spy photos that show Mercedes is working on a C-Class Cabriolet, a replacement for the CLK. The C-Class convertible isn’t expected to go on sale until 2015, a year after the four-door saloon arrives.
According to sources, the A-Class cabriolet that was originally on the docket is no longer part of Mercedes’ new product plan. This means the C-Class Convertible, although a bit larger, will rival the Audi A3 Cabriolet and the new BMW 2 Series Convertible – both of which will be on the market 2014.
Mercedes C63 AMG
It’s still unclear if the new C63 AMG will feature a 5.5-liter mill or a new 4.0-liter unit from AMG. We do know however that no matter which engine Mercedes goes with, there will be vicious competition between the AMG, the new BMW M3 that is due out in 2014.
Gordon Wagener, Mercedes-Benz Design Chief confirmed to Whatcar that the Mercedes A-Class family will grow beyond the new CLA four door coupe and the newly unveiled GLA SUV. According to Wagener, Mercedes is planning an estate version of the CLA saloon, creating a smaller version of the CLS Shooting Brake. ‘The CLA is a four-door coupe as well, so why not do it?” he said.
Rumors of a sportier A-Class model, such as a small coupe or soft-top were debunked by Wagener as well, “We don’t need a sports car, the market is declining.”
Renderings are from master automotive manipulator Theophilus Chin.
Kicking things off this morning, we’ve got the latest renderings from one of our favorite automotive manipulators, Theophilus Chin. In his latest rendering, Theophilus gives us a glimpse of what the all new 2014 CLA-Class would look like if instead it was designed as a two-door coupe. As for his choice of red paint, Chin explains that “red is an auspicious color for Chinese and today the Chinese and many East Asian celebrates Lunar New Year. And Chinese loves Mercedes-Benz too. So let me take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy and Prosperous Lunar New Year.”
As you’ll see in the photos, Chin did an incredible job with the rendering, creating a model that looks ready to roll of the production line tomorrow.
As for whether or not we will ever see a two-door CLA-Class, judging by Mercedes’ propensity to expand their model lineup, it’s a very real possibility. While the CLA-Class in and of itself is sporty looking as a four-door, there’s no question that younger, first time Mercedes owners would be equally (if not more) drawn to a coupe variant.
Until then, take a moment to enjoy Chin’s two door CLA renderings in all their illustrious glory below along with past renderings of the CLA-Class as an Estate.
Autocar UK has revealed a treasure trove of information on the fourth-gen Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which may receive its debut at next year’s Geneva show. No official images yet, so we have here some speculative renderings from automotive manipulator Theophilus Chin to give you an idea of what the car could look like, based on information and spyshots that’s found on the net so far.
The compact exec will be reborn with more sporting intent and will share very little with the current car. “We want once and for all to discard the idea that the C-Class is a car bought by your grandfather,” a Stuttgart-based official told Autocar UK. “We have gone to extensive lengths to ensure it will meet the expectations of a younger generation of buyers, both visually and technically.”
The smaller CLA-Class’ arrival allows the C-Class to be pushed a little more upmarket. Sedan, estate, coupe and cabriolet bodystyles are planned, with the first two set to emerge in March 2014 and the rest the year after. All will get AMG versions, powered by a new twin-turbo 4.0 litre V8.
The new car, codenamed W205, is 4.7 metres long, with a 2.82 metre wheelbase. Track width is up by 40 mm and overall width jumps by the same amount to 1.81 metres. Boot volume is increased to 485 litres.
Mercedes’ new MRA (Modular Rear-wheel drive Architecture) platform will debut on this car. It involves a lightweight monocoque structure made out of hot-formed steel that allows a base C160 model to weigh under 1.38 tonnes; bearing in mind the new car is larger all-round and more rigid.
A double wishbone set-up may take the place of the existing MacPherson struts up front, while out back the multi-link arrangement gets some refinement-improving tweaks.
There’ll be four-cylinder and V6 petrols ranging from a 184 hp turbocharged 2.0 litre to a 330 hp twin-turbo 3.0 litre, while the diesels should include an upgraded version of the familiar 2.1 litre engine in up to four states of tune, between 120 to 220 hp. Stop-start and regenerative braking will feature on all engines, bringing CO2 emissions down to around 20 grams per km.
Changes there are to the driveline architecture and driveshaft layout, which will allow, for the first time, production of the standard RWD and optional 4MATIC in both LHD and RHD. As a result, there’ll also be a RHD version of the next GLK-Class.
Transmission options for the W205 are a six-speed manual and an updated version of the 7G-TRONIC. The British publication says that a nine-speed auto is in the works, most probably for the car’s mid-cycle facelift that’s planned for 2017, after it trickles down through more upmarket Mercs.
There will be a new electromechanical steering system and a range of self-parking options will come with it. Adaptive damping control is standard across the range, while the safety tech found on the facelifted E-Class, including the stereo camera and collision prevention systems, is planned for the new C-Class.
Additionally, there’ll be Distronic Plus with Steering Assist and Brake Assist Plus with Junction Assist; these systems respectively keep the car in lane and boost braking to avoid collision with cross-flow traffic and pedestrians.
Planned for 2015 is a plug-in petrol-electric hybrid version of the C-Class. Sources have suggested to Autocar UK that the car will be capable of travelling up to 30 km on electric power alone. Via: PaulTan
What seems like forever ago, in 2009, Mercedes introduced the W212 sedan, as the ninth generation of the E-Class. It was soon followed by the C207, the coupe version of the Mercedes E-Class which then replaced the CLK-Class coupe.
The model internally known as the A207 is the latest to join the family. The Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet was unveiled a mere two years ago in January 2010 and went on sale in the US as the E350 V6 and E550 V8 versions.
Mercedes has just given the E-Class a radical makeover, with completely new headlights, bumpers, grille and hood. But they only revealed the four-door sedan and the wagon versions. We know the C207 and A207 will both receive a new look, but until it becomes official, here are two renderings of what the new E-Class Cabriolet may look like with a facelift.
Renderings by Theophilus Chin via Autoevolution
Renderings of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class mid-cycle face lift have made their way to the web and we love what we see. Mercedes-Benz won’t limit changes to just the headlights, the grille, and the bumpers; the sheetmetal will also be significantly altered as well. The pronounced sculpted rear fenders we’re now used to will be scrapped on the sedan and the station wagon. The coupe and convertible may retain their current side panels, setting them somewhat apart from the four- and five-door models. This distinction would be highly appropriate, as the two sets of body styles don’t share a platform; the E-class coupe and convertible use a combination of C- and E-class underpinnings.
The headlight quartet, which was a key visual element that chief designer Gorden Wagener said he wouldn’t “want to do without” when the E-class was launched, will be scrapped, just like the hook-shaped daytime running lamps. Mercedes will also alter the angular and stylistically designed dashboard and interior that we were introduced to in 2009. In addition, the cabin will get a softer look that is more in line with the traditional perception of the brand.
The Mercedes-Benz E-class is the brand’s key model, with competition coming from the Audi A6, BMW 5-series, Cadillac CTS, Infiniti M, Jaguar XF, Lexus GS. Its previous busy styling was not welcomed by Mercedes-Benz purists, so this redesign is Mercedes-Benz chance to prove they can still build a traditional car while adding updated styling to attract new buyers.
As for the E-class platform, models will remain on their current pair of platforms. while Mercedes may take the opportunity to tinker with suspension tuning or add new chassis tech.
The U.S. market will keep the E350’s 3.0-liter V-6, the E550’s turbocharged 4.7-liter V-8 and paired with 4MATIC all-wheel drive in the sedan. The E350 BlueTec’s 3.0-liter V-6 turbo-diesel, note this is only available as a four-door. The E63 AMG’s 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-8, available currenlty only in sedan and wagon forms, but an E63 AMG coupe likely is on the horizon. The new-for-2013 E400 hybrid—featuring a 3.0-liter V-6 and a 27-hp, 207-lb-ft electric motor—will continue to be available as well. No diesel hybrid will be offered in the U.S., nor will any of Benz’s efficient four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines.
A seven-speed automatic is the only transmission on all models in the U.S. The jigsaw puzzle that is all-wheel-drive availability and restriction within the E-class lineup will remain as tedious as ever but likely won’t change much from today’s matrix.
The face-lifted E-class will likely be unveiled at the Detroit auto show in January 2013 and go on sale in the summer of next year as a 2014 model. When the new model arrives, we expect it to carry stickers similar to the current models’; prices will begin at just over $50,000, with a hefty premium for the wagon and the convertible. The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class is currently completing testing and will be unveiled later this year. But, for those of you that can’t wait, the graphic design artist Wild-Speed has done an awesome job rendering what the finished S-Class could look like.
The renderings from Benzboost feature a single frame grille that sits atop central air intakes with additional vents on the outside of the front fascia with incorporate LED daytime running lights. The headlights meanwhile show A unique design is shown for the headlights that seem very similar to the ones seen on the camouflaged prototypes.
The drivetrain choices will not be surprising with the Mercedes S550 getting the M278 turbo V8 motor and the S63 AMG getting the 5.5 liter M157 twin turbo V8 with an optional Performance Package. We should also see the return of the S65 AMG featuring the same twin turbo V12 that is in the new SL. Expect this car as a 2013 model and enjoy the renderings in various colors below.
The Teamspeed spies caught the first full body prototype for the new Mercedes-Benz C-class this week undergoing cold weather testing in extremely snowy conditions. Engineers at Mercedes-Benz have gone to extreme lengths to keep the styling under wraps on the test vehicle by placing black plastic panels over nearly all the design lines.
Some are saying that the shape of the panel covering the grille could mean that we will see a more oval shape in the front and that the headlights will be reminiscent of the Mercedes CLS. Personally, I think we are looking at a test mule doing cold weather engine testing, the front end is far to long, making it disproportionate to the rear. An attribute we generally see on BMW’s, not Mercedes.
The spy photos are in the gallery below but I’ve also included past renderings of the 2014 C-Class that I believe will closer reflect the final styling of the C-Class.
Just as we are guessing at the new C-Class styling, the engines that will power the new C-Class are also just speculation at this point. Rumor has it, there may be a three-cylinder engine in the works by Mercedes but more likely we will see a four-cylinder engine with cylinder-deactivation technology. Additionally, we can likely expect a hybrid variant with an electric motor.
The new Mercedes-Benz is scheduled to hit the market in late 2013 or early 2014.
We have been seeing spy photos of the Mercedes-Benz CLC for months, but thanks to an amazing digital artist, we are able to see what the CLC will really look like.
The compact sedan has been nicknamed the CLC as well as the BLS and is based on the next-generation Mercedes-Benz B-Class, riding on Mercedes-Benz’s new Modular Front Architecture (MFA) front-wheel drive platform.
The Mercedes CLC/BLS is rumored to be debuting at the 2012 New York auto show this April.

Here at eMercedesBenz we’re big fans of Mercedes renderings, and one of the best at creating Mercedes concepts we can only dream about is CWW Cardesign. Over the past month they have completed a few new Mercedes-Benz concept renderings, so we thought it only fitting to share them with you.
The first Mercedes-Benz concept from CWW Cardesign is an AMG F1 Renntransporter / Parts Transporter, imagined to transport parts during an F1 race. The next two renderings are cabriolets based on a 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS Convertible and a Mercedes CL500 Convertible. And if you haven’t already, make sure to check out their website as they have completed concept renderings of everything from a Mercedes 550 Kompressor to a Mercedes S770K Coupe.
Seen here is BenzBoost’s take on the future ML63 AMG. We know it is coming as we have posted several groups of spy photos and testing information. Based on their renderings, there are no real surprises in store as the new ML63 AMG will likely have the M157 twin turbo direct injected V8 from the E63 AMG. If this is the case, it will mean 518 horsepower in standard trim and 550 horsepower with the optional performance package. The ML63 AMG’s curb weight should come in just under 5000 pounds. We expect to see an official reveal of the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG at the Frankfurt Auto Show later this year.

If you’re wondering what the future holds for the high end of the Mercedes-Benz model range, Automobile magazine is reporting on the possibility of a new line of vehicles internally designated as the “SLM”. Falling about $20,000 below the price point of the new SLS AMG ($189,000), the models are said to be true mid-engine designs, thus allowing Mercedes to directly compete with the Audi R8 and the upcoming production version of the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics coupe. Design wise, the models will not resemble the current Gullwing, but they will likely use a modified version of the SLS AMG’s aluminum spaceframe.
As for body types, Automobile speculates there may be as many as three versions of the SLM: a coupe, a roadster and a hatchback. On the coupe, the publication suggests a coupe with “heron-wing” doors (they swing out and then pivot up at a 45-degree angle) will be the likely starting point, whereas the roadster will likely be more of a speedster design (featuring a cut-down windshield and manually operated cloth top). As for power, look for a 350-hp 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 paired with two electric motors positioned in front of the driver to supply thrust, while the front axle, battery technology, and the electronics platform will likely be based on those found in the upcoming 2012 Mercedes SLS E-Cell.
At this point, this is all purely speculation. If indeed the Mercedes SLM does come to fruition, it likely won’t be until 2015, and there’s a whole lot that can change between now and then. If we hear anything new, we’ll let you know, but in the meantime, you can read Automobile’s complete predictions for a Mercedes SLM and take from it what you will.
It’s Friday and Mercedes news is a little light, so we figured we’ll take a moment to publish some of the more unfounded Mercedes rumors that have been circulating the internet as of late. First up are a few renderings depicting the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, a model that will be manufactured both in Germany and at Mercedes’ Tuscalossa, Alabama plant when it enters production. At this point, virtually nothing is known about the 2014 C-Class and the closest thing we have to the actual model are spy photos of its upcoming mid-life revision; nevertheless, sketch artists couldn’t help but guesstimate what the new model will look like.
In addition to the renderings, there’s a fair bit of conjecture pertaining to the 2014 C-Class accompanying the sketches. A diesel hybrid and straight plug-in hybrid are both mentioned as viable possibilities, as is a new three-cylinder power plant. At this point, we’re not going to make any assumptions, other than the fact MBUSA would have to be crazy not to release at least form of a C-Class hybrid in the next model release. We’ll keep you posted if any new details emerge; in the meantime, check out a few of the 2014 Mercedes C-Class renderings below or head over to Motor Authority for the full article.
