Although of little consequence to my American readers, those of you residing in the U.K will be pleased to hear that
DaimlerChrysler will be officially opening the doors to its new Mercedes-Benz World complex on Sunday, October 29th, offering visitors to the complex a wealth of Mercedes-related activities and exhibits.
Located on the 155 acre site of the former Brooklands race circuit in Weybridge, Surrey, highlights of the new Mercedes-Benz World include several on and off-road test tracks, a Mercedes production line simulator ride, an interactive problem-solving laboratory, a gourmet restaurant, numerous cafes and
boutiques, and a KidsZone play area.
According to Wilfried Steffen, President and CEO of DaimlerChrysler UK: "Mercedes-Benz World is not just for petrolheads, it has been designed with the whole family in mind. We want to engage people with the innovations and stories that have shaped automotive history and ignite young people's passion for the future. At Mercedes-Benz World it's not just the grown-ups who can take to the tracks but youngsters too will be given their very first taste of driving."
If you're interested in attending, as already mentioned, Mercedes-Benz World will be open this Sunday (October 29th). Admission is free, but there charges for those wishing to take part in one of the "Driving Experience" activities that are available.
To learn more, head over to the official Mercedes-Benz World website where you can find the full listing of highlights and activities as well as additional information about how to attend.
