A long time ago in a land far, far away, we brought you rumors of the Mercedes SL-Class receiving a slight facelift to coincide with the release of the newest lineup of Mercedes models.

Our friends over at Autoblog.nl came across another similar article today, further fueling speculation of some impending upgrades to Mercedes' flagship roadster line.

If the rumors are indeed correct, here's what we can look forward to:

All SL-Class models will receive a slight facelift. The two main things we can expect to see are slight modifications to the front grill as well as the rear headlights.  Again, both are minor tweaks, so don't expect to see an SLK/SLR nose appearing any time soon (we hope).

The SL350 will receive a new 3.5-Liter power plant.  Reports indicate that the SL350 will receive a 3.5-Liter V6, down from the 3.7-Liter V6 it's currently powered by. In terms of horsepower, the new SL350 will see a performance boost of 27 peak horsepower, bringing the total to 272 horsepower.

The SL500 will be powered by the new 5.5-Liter V8.  Much like the SL350, the SL500 will benefit from an enhancement under the hood.  The newest SL will be powered by the new 5.5-Liter V8, which bumps the power from 302 to 388 peak horsepower.

The SL55 AMG will receive a slight power boost. Powered by Mercedes' 5.5-Liter V8 power plant, the SL55 AMG will receive a slight boost in power by 24 peak horsepower, bringing the total horsepower to 517.

We'll keep you posted when DaimlerChrysler makes their official press release.
