While posting this article, I was alerted to the fact that Autoblog beat me to it by mere minutes, so before I begin, I have to give them their rightful props.
By now, I'm sure you've all heard the drama of the Mercedes S-Class failing the
crash test on Germany's Star TV. First, it was thought the S-Class simply failed the test; but then it turned out that the test was actually a hoax, a well devised scheme orchestrated to "simulate" the S-Class' advanced safety features.
Star TV has posted a video of the entire incident, allowing you to witness the test, the crash and all the drama that ensued afterwords with your very own eyes.
I'd love to form my own opinion, but unfortunately, my German skills are somewhat lacking. I did learn a new German word though...
Scheiße.
What does Scheiße mean? I'll give you a hint. Immediately after the crash, the S-Class driver's first words were something like: "Scheiße, Scheiße, Scheiße, Scheiße, Scheiße... uuuuuuuugh... Scheiße."
Absolutely hilarious.
Watching the ashtray pop open and hearing liquid pour from the vehicle immediately after the crash is equally as amusing.
Not to change the subject, but as you may or may not know, I'm what many would consider a marketing genius. Despite hearing rumblings and criticisms in the automotive industry about the failed S-Class test, and after witnessing the crash for myself, I hold a slightly different view of the situation.
In my professional marketing opinon, I think it is the perfect time for Mercedes to bolster a new ad campaign, courtesy of yours truly.
Please, no compliments... I already know how impressive my photoshopping skills are.
Sorry to go slightly off topic - as promised, you can check out the full S-Class video in all its unrated glory by clicking here.
Enjoy.
