In an article published today, Auto Motor und Sport is reporting that we may see an update to the Mercedes SLR McLaren as early as September.
The basis for their claims stems from spy photos taken of what it believes will be the Mercedes' latest iteration, a slightly enhanced version of the already impressive supercar. AMS believes upgrades will include an increase in horsepower from 626 to 650, a updated interior, 19" wheels, firmer suspension, a new braking system, and increased weight savings. As a result of the modifications, the new SLR's 0-60 mph time is expected to improve from 3.8 to 3.6 seconds, while its 0-124 mph time is expected to improve from 10.6 to 10.2 seconds.
The article went on to state that until the end of 2007, the
sport version of the SLR will be limited to 150 units, after which a roadster variant will be introduced.
We'll be sure to keep you posted if we hear anything new; in the meantime, you can find the full article over at Auto Motor und Sport.
